In most spaces, our bespoke carpet designs are the centre of attention. But at The Landmark London , all eyes are firmly to the sky.

The stunning eight storey glass atrium in the Winter Garden is the centrepiece of this beautiful London hotel. Creating an enchanting setting that forms part of an incomparable eating experience, it was the obvious feature for Alex Kravetz Design to focus the interior design around.

It added an extra challenge for Matthew Weaver, our Design Specification Manager who was responsible for the beautiful bespoke carpet designs in the renovated Winter Garden.

“For large spaces like this, our designs are usually the most colourful and eye-catching aspect of the room,” explained Matthew Weaver, our Design Specification Manager. “But it is impossible to compete with an eight-storey glass atrium so, on this occasion, it was more of a case of creating a design that complemented the room in a more subtle way.

“As you can see, the finish has a handtufted feel about it that matches the essence of the overall style. We have a great relationship with Alex Kravetz Design and we worked from their concept to create a design that flows perfectly within this beautiful space. We’re delighted with the final result.”

Global Experience

Taking inspiration from the renowned glasshouses and grand hotels around the world, such as the Palm House at Kew Gardens, the Orangerie at Syon House, and Longwood, the award-winning boutique interior design and architecture studio have utilised their global experience as specialists in luxury interiors for hospitality projects, high-end residences, and private jets.

Building around a colour palette that was influenced by peacocks and palm courts, and features a vibrant mix of blues, greens, and gold, the carpet design adds to the botanical theme and connection to nature in The Winter Garden.

It helps to evoke feelings of luxury, nature, and tranquillity, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that feels both sophisticated and relaxed.
